| 内容記述 | This paper aims to identify a potential framework for addressing the problem of ethnic antagonism rooted in differing interpretations of modern history between Korea and Japan, employing a literature-based analytical approach. To this end, this paper first examines Hegel’s discussion of the ‘rational state’ in Philosophy of Right . In doing so, it seeks to clarify the theoretical status of the ‘rational state’ as a framework capable of addressing interethnic antagonism-an issue that proves difficult to resolve at the level of the ‘understanding-based state.’ The paper then critically examines the concept of the ‘East Asian Cooperative,’ a regional sphere that imperial Japan sought to realize in the 1930s as a concrete solution to the so-called‘ ethnic problem,’ analyzing it from the perspective of whether it can be understood as a‘ rational’ space. | |||||||||||||||
